Our school district is thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new
Newcomer Center on Monday, September 11.
Our Newcomer Center is a dedicated space/program designed to provide support and resources for students who are new to the English language and score as “beginner” on the English proficiency scale.
Its purpose is to help students acclimate to their educational environment, build language proficiency, overcome language barriers, and navigate the educational system successfully.
The center offers language instruction, cultural orientation, and academic support to help ensure a smooth adjustment into our school community.
The Newcomer Center is located in Bakken Ridge at Williston Middle School Central Campus and is used by students in grades 5-12.
We are so grateful to be able to provide this opportunity to students who are new to the English language!
