Welcome back from break everyone! Williston FFA hopes everyone had a wonderful holiday.
We would like to refresh everyone on all of the fun opportunities we had during our fall semester in 2023.
We started off with a trip to Bismarck to State Leadership, this was a great quick trip packed with workshops and awesome opportunities for us to become better as members as well as people.
Back in Williston we started decorating our homecoming float for the Williston homecoming parade. Our float turned out fabulously and was a great team building experience for our chapter.
Our next big opportunity as a chapter was our trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Our group of 8 members and 2 supervisors took the Amtrak to Chicago and then made our way to Indianapolis. During our trip we had so many amazing learning opportunities as individuals and as a chapter. We are so glad to have had this opportunity and are still using what we learned to better our chapter.
Back from Nationals we got into routine as a chapter building our committees and thinking of awesome new fundraising opportunities. We sold well over $12,000 during our fruit fundraiser, Thank You for buying fruit from Williston FFA. The first of December our chapter took a team of 4 members to Districts to compete in the Agriculture/FFA Knowledge Bowl, Williston FFA won 3rd out of 13 chapters! Members included Malia Burns (winning Gold), Haylee Sundby (winning silver), Gracie Strickland (winning Silver), and Alyssa Stone (winning Silver). Great job team!!!
Our chapter helped with Specialty Assignment Pizza at the beginning of November. This is where Williston Ag Committee and Farm Bureau asked us to help teach elementary school students about agriculture in the area and state through making a "pizza". We went through where parts of pizza came from and helped teach elementary students.
Our December monthly meeting took place as a Christmas party. It was great to have our chapter together to play games and celebrate the holiday.
Thank you to everyone who stands with our FFA chapter and continues to support us through our agricultural learning and leadership opportunities. We are so excited for this spring semester and all of the amazing things we have planned!
